Gaston, le gaffeur perdu

Juanuary 7th to may 25th 2018

Gaston VR “le gaffeur perdu” is a VR game in which the player must find Gaston Lagaffe and his animals in a maze of books.

This VR experience has been created for the HTC vive and developed with Unreal Engine 4. This project was presented at the 33th “Comédie du livre” in Montpellier.

In this project, we was a team of 8 people .

My job on this project was artistic director, brand manager, 3D & VFX artist and playtest manager with the producer.

What I’ve learned

  • Give a clear vision of the desired graphic result of the game and implement a efficient methodology to the 3D artists.
  • Give precise and organized instructions.
  • Generate procedural textures using substance designer and painter.
  • Understand and analyze players’ reactions during the playtest, synthesize and explain the problems noted to the rest of the team.
  • Using the particles system of Unreal Engine 4.
